PIP update!!

Just saw a post today on FB (fightback) which said a lot of people have received letters recently re extending their PIP award.

You can check online if you create a gov.uk one log-in. I did this, it was quite easy although from some comments others didn't find it so (I think opt for the app is the takeaway).

Anyways, downloaded PIP award letter just now and instead of expiring FEB 2027 it now states FEB 2030.

I don't think I realised how much pent up anxiety I had about an upcoming review until I saw the new date in writing. The relief I feel is off the scale, I honestly feel like my prayers have been answered & I'm not really religious.

Anyway, it seems I am not alone and many others have had their award extended. Some by one year, some two & some more.

So, it might be worth a check if this affects you too.

Obviously you could just wait for a letter. I don't recommend ringing as from comments on the FB post every man and his dog are doing that, can't get through & then having a meltdown. Maybe leave it a week if you're going to telephone.

that’s amazing news, well done! Can I ask if yours was an original award or have you been through a review in the past?

I'd had one review in 2024 and they'd given a 3 year duration so ended Feb 2027 (now 2030)

My husbands award has been chabged from 2027 to 2031 . My daughters still have her end date as july 2027

Was your husband reviewed in the past? And is this your daughter’s first award? They seem to be only extending people who have had reviews in the past and not original awards

Can I ask, without going into details what category your condtions falls into? Ie whether you have a physical or mental health disability?

Hi, it's PTSD/cPTSD (which evidence shows changes your brain-physically) but I get the question :-)

Just to clarify - I'm a single income household & whilst I do work that's been a struggle recently so the relief I feel is 'I can keep a roof over my head now'. That anxiety is intense, especially with Iran war/inflation/interest rates (mortgage) so I wasn't crowing - if that's how it came off. More, the cliff that was looming has moved & I can now at least breath some. xx

Hello are people having letters saying that they're having a 7 day extension applied to pip then recieving letters saying a longer extension or are they recieving review forms please? Any help would be appreciated

It seems that some claimants are still receiving assessment forms to complete.

You could check yours by going on the government website as others here have done.

@luvpink thank you for reply im a little confused as the extension is for 7 days so im just wondering whether I'll have review forms sent in couple of weeks or have another extension put in place?

Best thing is to go online and check or wait for further communication from them.
