Hi, my name is maxine18!
I interested in the chsnges to up coming disability benifits and what other people think abd why i do have people in my household witg disabilities as im a home carer. I have worked in mental health care in the past too abd i am in with these essesments and them be ing 1 to 1 but my problem is the centers are no where near where they live some people have to travel mile s to be assessed and if they cant or dont have trabsport how are they supposed to get there. My partner has a problem with his eyes abd is slowly gping blind i agree it is rectifiable by a eye replacement in both eyes but not until he is completly blind and has rumatoid aurthritus of the spine due to an untreated splinter of the spine when he was younger this cabnot be rectified because if they operate the will have break the spine again abd all this will do is shift the pain to a differant part of his spine. So if he has to attend these assesments he will have to do this but how is he suposed to get there. We dont have a car we rely on buses basically or trains bus rids cab bed long journeys abd cause pain so why do these places expect a person to travel so far a way 2 or 3 bus or 2 trains or is it part of the assesnent that if they can get there there isnt much or if thet dont go then they dont get the bebefit anyway. Why cant the assesment s be done ar doctors or hospitals to stop this problem for these people. Plus the fact i am a home carer yes but not his i am my autistic abd ashd sons and if i help him gwt there then i have to drag my son with me or leave him without a carer does this sound fare. Now inside the house i can take care of both they live inside the same house but not when im traveling miles for assesments that we cabt garentee he will pass. And if he doesnt get on disability then he will be expected to work the can hardly see and defo cant lift and the government thinks that employers are gunna put up with this. And if he dpnt then he will have to travel from clowne derbyshire to worksop on a bus yet again for job club or to sign on. He did do the job club they wanted him to apply for warehiuse work and replied but i cant lift and they replied no but you can drive a forklift so my partner said how when i cant see what if hit someone basically basically he us a insurance liability
