Change of Circumstances
hi guys!
long story short I have a neurological illness in which I had brain surgery to try and stem the issue but it failed and made my life a misery. I’ve been claiming enhanced daily living for some time now but post surgery done a change of circumstances as my mobility is now severely affected. I’ve not yet had a decision yet but today I logged onto the GOV website to get proof of benefits which it has updated my document with today’s date until 2032 that I’m still only entitled to enhanced daily living. Does this mean they have rejected me for any mobility component?
thank you!

That could possibly be the case @mickfrankie, but it's difficult to say for certain until your letter comes through to confirm things. Have you had any texts to update you on what's happening with your claim?
You could try ringing the enquiries line to see if they can tell you any more, but they don't often give out results over the phone.
If it does turn out to be a no, do you think you'll be up for challenging it? Hopefully it won't come to that but you might be able to get a better result after an appeal.

hi no texts or anything. Feeling extremely deflated and hoping there is error somewhere. I will 100% be appealing it

@mickfrankie If you've had no updates it may well be that they just haven't updated it all yet, but as I say, unfortunately it's so hard to tell with these things until you get confirmation from them. Very frustrating to say the least!
Did you have an assessment after the change of circumstances?

I’m hoping this is the case. It was just by of chance I happened to login and look and see my award dates have changed and they have extended it 6 years. No I haven’t had any kind of assessment just filled in the reassessment form

Fingers crossed that's what it is @mickfrankie. It may be worth giving them a ring if you can and asking if there are any updates on your change of circumstances. Hopefully you'll hear back from them soon either way.
