just had a very stressful day been mucked about by my Support provider yet again and should’ve had a hour of Support this morning only had 45 minutes of it try to sort this out out of my normal Support Worker he wouldn’t listen to me. Had another email from him today stating that he has to support somebody else tomorrow morning instead of which is not last minute I’ve got somebody else doing my Support tomorrow which is too short not sticking to my Support plan Support times it’s caused me I’m scared to tell my sister have a go at me what else can I do?

All support providers have problems, including having almost no staff because nobody wants to work in care for the Peanuts they get paid for working stupidly long hours with potentially challenging clients.

Hi @starwars65. That must be frustrating and puts you out of routine. Does this happen a lot or is it a one off? I'd definitely tell your sister as it's causing you stress, hopefully she'll be understanding - it's not your fault. Could you contact the organisation that arranges it to see if they can ensure that you have the same person and agreed times moving forward?

Unfortunately @Holly_Scope as I am painfully aware, the care sector is in permanent staff crisis mode, and what you're suggesting is almost never possible because the care providers ain't got no staff.

I've been in the care sector since 2001 under various providers, and they all have the same problem, permanent staff shortages, including where I live now, most of the time, not including management, there's 3 staff on duty to 5 residents, NOT acceptable IMO.

Yes, unfortunately there's a lot of strain on the care sector in general but I think it's worth asking the question. It'll depend on your area/care provider as to what they can do for you.

I've merged 2 of your posts so the comments are together as they covered the same question. Hope that's ok ☺️
