Spinal Stenosis, Cervical Spine and Shoulder Pain

My uncle is **** years old. He is suffering from Spinal Stenosis. In
September 2025, he had a fall and suffered from fracture of the
Mandible also. He just had a fall today again. There is bruises on
left side of face and scratches on left leg. He also had pain in his
chest. He took 2 paracetamol and he says the pain is fine now.
However, he had to sit down to change clothes after the fall today,
where on a normal day, he can change clothes by standing easily. He
is having a pain in left shoulder and Cervical Spine, due to which he
had to go to Accident and Emergency at his local hospital last week.
They recommended an urgent MRI. However GP has referred him for
Spinal Surgeon. Is this the best action? Should GP do urgent referral
for MRI again as advised by Consultant no? To rule out any internal
ribs or lungs damage or any facial fracture, what is the best course
of action? Should he have a Face/Legs/Full Body MRI/CT/X-Ray? Just
want to ensure he has not suffered any fracture or any type of injury
from today's fall

    Hi @Mark_health, welcome to the community. I'm sorry to hear your uncle has had such a rough time of it, that sounds very painful. Unfortunately, we can't give medical advice here as none of us are medically trained. But if you believe that things aren't going the way they should, please do consider pushing for a second opinion from the doctors.

    If consultants at the hospital would like him to have a scan, then it may be worth asking again at the GP and pushing for that. Did he have any scans at the hospital when he went?
