Paying for a Uni course on Enhanced rate PIP and UC?

I attended an Open Day up at Sheffield Hallam University yesterday morning and am really interested in joining the BsC Games Design course which possibly starts in September.
However, obviously I am on Enhanced rate PIP and UC, so how would I pay for the course at £500 a year with a Foundation year due to my limited Academic credentials?

£500 a year isn't much. That's less than £10 a week.
Enhanced PIP & UC LCWRA add up to around £20,000 a year.

Hmm, so in theory I could just about stretch to £9750 a year for 4 years with a Foundation year?

Where has the £9750 come from? That's a lot more than the £500 a year in the first post.

Well having looked it up, the 4 year course is £9750 per year (full time) with a Foundation year.
I've emailed my finance company to see if it's feasible but the guy in charge is one of these with the communication skills of a Sheep who doesn't respond to messages unless he wants summat.

I have noticed you often say you're 'skint'. That sounds alot of money to find.

Ok. That's a lot more money. Obviously I don't know your full outgoings, but that would be too much for most of us.
There might be grants available to help, but that's not my area I'm afraid.

I need to investigate that, I emailed the tutor yesterday, and they said they'd give me a call possibly today to discuss, but my phone's currently on charge.

Would you not be eligible for a student finance loan? It's what most people end up using to pay for university

I've just come off the phone with a lady from the Uni, I would need to do a level 3 Higher Education Diploma to be eligible for the course I want.
I'm going to look into that, possibly with the Open University, as I have under £25K in assets so I'd get it for free.
Might do some Googling and send some emails.

I'm just in the process of uploading my Academic qualification certtificates, only problem is, some of them are so old they might not be valid any more.

I don't think things like that become invalid @SheffieldMan1976, providing they still show that you've studied to a specific level in a specific subject. Fingers crossed it all works out ok!

I'm really pleased you went and found a course. It sounds very promising. Will it be at the University, Home or a bit of both? Just a little worried with your carers being a little bit unreliable, will you be ok getting there if it's mostly in person. I'm hoping so because it's a really exciting opportunity. ☺️

It's Distance Learning on a part time basis.
I actually found all my evidence documents including my British Passport, well scanned images of them.

Well even if I did have the Academic credentials, my finance company tells me they can't pay for the course.

Owww. Is there any chance the course would offer a payment plan so you could pay monthly?

Even if they did, £39K over 4 years would be beyond me, unfortunately they only call me Rich by name (damn you National Lottery numbers)
