Hi im a freind of thomas [removed by moderator] im on here on behalf of him hes dyslexic, autistic and also suffers from anxiety he has been treated unfairly and discriminated and taken advantage off and he cant do nothing because of his disabilities ive come on here in the hope of finding some nice people who can help him out hes suffered institutional discrimination from members of reputeable organisations hes tried to reach out to everyone for support or advise but unfortunately hit a brick wall

Il tell you a bit about his situation and what hes going through tom has been a tenant at this allotment for about a year and a half since the last 5 months he has been bullied threatened and his property has been deliberetly broken by another tenant of the same allotment tom innitially notified the warden ( bully happened to be a freind of the warden )about this continious bullying and threats no action was taken and the threats and bullying increased a couple of weeks later he notified the warden again yet again no action was taken eventually after recieving multiple threats of violence from this individual tom had no choice but to inform the police the police made a couple of visits and collected voice recordings and pphotographic evidence of damage etc then the case got passed on to a officer (who happened to be a freind of the warden )

On the 10th of may a meeting took place at the allotment

Parties present

Tom ( victim) Ben ( bully ) john ( warden ) James ( chairman of allotment )

3 options where offered to both parties

1. Shake hands and move forward
2. Tom to move to other side of allotment
3. If theres no resolution both tenants will be evicted

Tom offered to produce evidence of the criminal damage and voice recordings of threats the chairman refused to see it he said that hes not interested tom agreed to shake hands because he didnt want to move because of all the effort and time he had spent looking after his allotment and vegetation and was emotionally pressured and cornered to agree to there terms

A day after the meeting he started getting threats again when tom asked ben where his stolen lights were . Tom then called the police and asked why the case has not neen pursued and no action been taken

on the 14th of may tom recieved an email from that officer saying apart from a few other things no further action will be taken and its upto the allotment commitee to manage the sight going forwards

On 28th june tom was issued an eviction notice to leave allotment within 14 days or face legal action the reasoning was absurd

1. why he notified the police and bypassed the warden ( its a criminal matter so he was well within his rights to notify police )
2. Why he didnt make a written formal complaint ( hes dyslexic and cant read and write )

Tom has all the evidence his atempts at text messages voice recordings and photographic evidence

He has been discriminated and let down everything the chairman and the council are saying is contradicting and doesnt make sense you can sense wholly foul play and misscarriage of his basic human rights hes been taken advantage of because of his dissabilities

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, it sounds like he's been through a lot. It's good that he has a friend like you in his corner and reaching out for support and advice.

Have you put in a complaint to the organisations that have been discriminatory against him? Citizens Advice may be able to help you do this if not.

It’s really sad to read about this situation. When people get an allotment, it’s often as a peaceful place to grow plants or vegetables, so I really feel for what he’s been going through. Tom’s absolutely followed the right steps to try and resolve this situation, even as far as contacting the police due to fear to his own safety and I’m so sorry that those responsible at the allotment haven’t taken steps to protect Tom.

I definitely agree with @Mary_Scope in that if you wish to seek further support somewhere like Citizens Advice or Turn2Us might be a good place to do so.

Regardless of that, I hope that Tom can find a new allotment with kinder people and move on from all of this.
