Hi, I'm 21 and looking to start renting soon, does anyone know what type of financial support I would be entitled to?

Unless you have PIP, you'll be eligible for the shared rate of housing allowance on Universal Credit. If you have PIP, you'll get the 1-bed rate.

Also, to be real with you, unless you have to relocate for work or your mental health/safety, you're much better off staying with your parents as long as possible to build up lots of savings first. Renting is so expensive and inaccessible to anyone without a full time job and a guarantor, it's very very unlikely you'll find anywhere if you need t move quickly.

With private renting, the amount Universal Credit will pay in Housing Element is linked to the Local Housing Allowance rates for your area. Often, this doesn't cover the whole rent.

It would've been 20 years next month since I moved into an HA Flat on Netherthorpe, for the first 5 years it was great, then the local government pulled the funding for what was the "Cluster" project and the support from the HA vanished almost literally overnight.

The support worker was a total clown with the communication skills of a certain plastic Duck with the late Keith Harris's hand up his bum, and was always on "annual leave"! And to think some people have the cheek to call ME workshy?!

Sorry for ranting, once again I've woken up in a mood because it was too hot to sleep last night.
