Love and Marriage

My wonderful loving parents were married 60 years yesterday.

They are both mostly housebound but my mum keeps a beautiful and might i say very modern home for a lady of almost 80. The spark they still have for each other is fantastic to see, they've always said they'd marry one another all over again. I wish I could keep them both forever.

Congratulations to your parents on their Diamond Wedding Anniversary @Doglover2

It is a rare and remarkable milestone. The diamond represents strength, purity and unbreakable love.

I hope you enjoy their company for years to come.

    Take care.

@Doglover2 My own Parents will have been married 54 years on the 23rd of September, and they've both got their own health problems, Dad's got Dementia, and Mum's got problems with her legs.

My cold cold heart breaks for the pair of 'em.

That's amazing they have stayed together all that time, and they still get along and adore each other! I lost mine fairly young, so enjoy the time you have left with them…….🙂

@Starman That's so sad to lose them young. My gran (mothers side) was just ten when her mother died aged 35,my dad lost his father when he was ten also and she had a big family to raise. It's just awful. But thank you.

Congratulations to your amazing parents for their Diamond Wedding Anniversary. My parents celebrated theirs in 2012 but unfortunately my Dad was in hospital at the time and my mother would not attend the family gathering that had been planned for them. However, we did visit Dad with the Diamond shaped cake that was made especially for the occasion. I like to think that the tea party the hospital kindly arranged for the special occasion went down well.

Hope your parents get to have many more wonderful anniversary's.

My paternal Grandad was gone before my time, as was my maternal Great Grandma, and my Great Grandad died in August 1982 when I was only 6 and a bit (still remember him though nearly 44 years later)
