PIP award randomly extended.

My pip award was to September 2031 this week got random letter saying increase to November 2031 same year. Don't know why but I panicked when so pip letter arrive lol

Do you already have Enhanced for both or do you currently get the Standard award?

If you get Enhanced for both then there is nothing to be gained from reporting it.

Financially it is better to report it as soon as possible, because any increase would be backdated to the date when you reported it.

You don't need to wait for another scan but you will need to prove that your walking distance is shorter now than it was before. In simple terms, you need to prove to the assessor that you can only walk a maximum of 20 metres. They may ask if you can walk around a supermarket, or around a park, or if you have any pets to walk. And they may ask if you can walk to a local post office or similar. They will use that type of thing as evidence of how far you can walk.

I am sure you have read that they will look at your whole award again, and could potentially remove points in other areas when doing that. So it has to be your choice of whether it is worth the risk of reporting or not.
