Has anyone has any experiences of ESA tribunals please? I am applying On Advise from my doctor and work coach but the stress levels are worrying me , also I believe there’s a massive backlog and time frames are a concern too . Also any stories of success rates would give me some hope .

I understand why you’re feeling worried — applying for an ESA tribunal can be a very stressful process, especially when you’re already dealing with health issues. The good thing is that you have support from both your doctor and work coach, which can be helpful evidence for your case.

Many people find the tribunal process less intimidating than they first expect. The panel is there to look at your circumstances and how your condition affects your daily life and ability to work, rather than to judge you personally. It can help to focus on explaining honestly how your health affects you on your worst days, what difficulties you face, and what support you need.

There are often delays because of backlogs, so unfortunately waiting times can vary, but try to use the time to gather any medical evidence, letters, and notes about how your condition impacts your daily activities.

I’ve read many stories where people were initially refused but were successful at tribunal because they were able to explain their situation more clearly and provide supporting evidence. Try not to lose hope — preparation and being honest about your difficulties can make a big difference.

Wishing you the very best with your application. Take things one step at a time, and remember to look after yourself during the process.
