Work issues
Hi all, I've been off sick from work for the past 4 weeks - due to go back to work on Monday. Got a call from work today and had to reiterate my request to return on part-time hours. I spoke to my team leader at 10.50am and then got an email at 11.25am stating that 'there is no business availability' for part-time hours! WTAF.
Just for some context, I was dong 12 hours per week (hated the role) and they offered me new role - full-tine. I really did try my best but it made me ill, hence the time off sick. I feel so alone and without help, I am not part of a union. Weirdly the company I work for (and my role) is a DWP contract. Given all the stuff about trying to help people into/stay in work this just seems to fly in the face of that. I should say I was asking for 25 hours. I'm desperate to keep my job as I've tried so hard since the PTSD to keep a job - really so that I can get a better/different job in the future. Any suggestions? I'm thinking accas but if anyone has any other suggestions that would be great. Thanks all xx

Hi @justsaying2025 I'm really sorry to read this - it seems like you've tried really hard in both roles. Would you be willing to do a phased return? So, perhaps come back on part time hours for a short period and work your way up to full time again? I'm just thinking if it were, this might be something you could propose to your manager?
Also, it might be worth asking if you can have an occupational health assessment which is an independent Doctor who will hold an appointment with you to discuss your return to work, and propose some amendments that will benefit you.
