Hi, my name is Zebracat!
My daughter her husband and two children live with me as well as here teenage sibling.
My mobility declined very quickly. I receive PIP H/H. I am aware this is a privilege. I am agoraphobic also a resent thing.
My daughter's family and many pets creates a lot of work. She however cleans up after herself and her family. However, she considers this enough to entitle her to the Carers element she claims for me from Universal credit.
Her sibling however, who is not entitled because of their age does the heavy lifting. Gets me breakfast, and water so I can take my meds. If I am having a bad pain day he ends up also making lunch and dinner for me. Helps me with my shoes walks with me to the GP a short but painful journey for me. He is the one who checks in on me.
Today he was unwell. I got a sandwich and my water bottle filled as usual bless him but then he was too sick to do more. I felt awful because I could not be an attentive mother.
I did not eat for the rest of the day as I couldn't get safely down the stairs.
My daughter has made it impossible to get hold of her even though she is in the same house. This meant I could not ask her for help. So I slept and ignored my hunger.
I feel she should not have the carers element for me, after today as it became clear to me that she is not caring for me. My son is.
My question is how do I get care from a professional to remove this responsibility that my daughter doesn't want and my son is too young to have ?
I definitely worry about losing my access to my grandchildren if I evict her. At this point I do feel it would be best so that I can at the very least hire a cleaner.

With regards to your Daughter, you can report that is she not providing you with 35 hours of care a week
You can get a needs assessment through your local council to explore your care needs.
