Feeling really frustrated

Hiya everyone,

I was advised by the person who did the volunteer induction which I did before I started my volunteering at my local hospital to apply for a care assistant role at care home to help me to apply for the health care support worker apprenticeship I have been wanting to apply for at my local hospital, but I haven't been able to as I haven't got the experience I need.

I have lost count of how many times I've applied for and been rejected for care assistant jobs in local care homes. One of which isn't far from where my fiancé works.

Where can I get help and support with applying for care assistant jobs that I don't have any experience in except for personal experience?

If you have an enhanced DBS disclosure and can drive and work stupidly long hours for Peanuts, they'll fall over themselves to hire you because most care homes are crying out for staff.

    Hi @BrianMcFaddenfan26

This sounds really frustrating especially as you have been volunteering to gain experience.

Scope have Support to Work which is an employment for disabled people. It may be worth reaching out to them as they can help support with finding employment, working on interview skills and CVs etc😊
