PIP Appeal to the FTT

I have a forthcoming PIP daily living Appeal to the FTT on 01/09/2026 at 11.45 am at London Tribunals, Newgate Street, and my representative from Brixton Advice Centre said she is unable to attend with me. She said let me change to a online hearing at their centre, this is my 2nd application for PIP daily living component and I have attended the 1st hearing and my appeal was unsuccessful, whereby I went all the way to the UT and CoA. My 1st appeal was unsuccessful because the DWP and FTT did not follow the PIP Regulations for the use of a dental prosthetic as an aid or appliance to let me eat or talk properly. I have been waiting for this appeal since 17/07/2025 and now my representative said they can't attend the face to face hearing, I have as already attended a PIP hearing for my 1st appeal and I went with friends as support and my appeal was not allowed. I am willing to go there by myself and not afraid or panic, because it is my right. How come now my representative are not willing to attend the hearing and the hearing date from HMCTS took so long over a year. For my MR they contact me twice and said I do not have to contact them until 15 weeks, and I will hear from them by 28/04/2025. When I never hear from them I then contacted them on 29/04/2024 and they said they have already sent me the MRN decision by post on 26/02/2025. I suspected that the DWP and HMCTS are playing games with application and appeal, because my 1st Advice worker from Centre 70 said that since I have known about the PIP Regulations my Appeal is going to take over a year. After my Appeal was made by Centre 70 in July 2025, their funding was cut and they closed, and then Brixton Advice Centre continued with my Appeal. This is unfair and unjust.

    Hello @alasalaamaa,

    Have I understood correctly that your representative has asked you to change it to an online hearing so that they are able to attend?

    I can see why it's frustrating they can't attend in person, especially after you've waited for so long. Unfortunately, many advice centres simply don't have the capacity to cover every face-to-face hearing, which may be why they've suggested switching to an online hearing from their office so they can still represent you.

    If you're comfortable attending in person on your own, that's absolutely your choice, but it might be worth asking them why they can't attend the tribunal itself and whether they can still support you in another way.

    I'm sorry you've waited so long for your tribunal and I hope it goes well.
