OT report sent to council yesterday. (23/07)

Hi, I’m new to this because I’m so frustrated.

On June 25th, I had a face2face Occupational Therapist assessment. Went well, she order me some trial medical equipment.

Whilst the shower board is an absolute life saver at the moment, it still isn’t good for permanent use.

I’m on Homefinder Somerset and I was originally on Silver - Medical/Welfare

Woke up today and had an email stating that due to the recent change of circumstances and the recent OT report added to my homefinder account, I’m staying in Silver - Medical/Welfare.

my OT report states clearly that my first floor flat isn’t suitable for a stair lift and/or a wet room.

It also states that I’m at significant risk. Due to my disability and my physical health. Not to forget my domestic abuse etc. my OT report literally stated everything that points towards GOLD band or Emergency. But they ignored the report and kept me silver. I’m going to do ask for a review and my doctor has now sent out to me a letter of support for me to upload to homefinder too. I’m also going to get my recent PIP review assessment added which shows I’m maxed right out on that.

I’m also awaiting a email back from my housing officer of where I live, to request an urgent management move.

Can anyone shed some light? I really don’t know what to do. I’m thinking of contacting CAB on Monday and even the domestic advice line too.

    Hi the council are obliged to give you the reasons for their decision.

    I would suggest informing the Occupational therapist for their advice and enlist the support of Citizens advice as you state you intend to do.

    I would also ask my mp to look into the matter.
