I have seen a lot about Ann Droid on social media over the past week or so and I'm very intrigued!

The premise is…

"The series is set in 2029 and follows Sue, a widow whose husband died 18 months prior, and her new android assistant robot named Linda, a secondhand AnnDroid Z58/100 Basic Eldercare Robot given by her son, Michael, who is moving out of the house to try to fix his marriage."

I am a big fan of Diane Morgan and Sue Johnston so I'm quite hopeful this will be a hit with me😄

Have you watched it yet? What did you think?

I watched some of it, Sue Johnston should be made up to a Dame for her services to British soap and comedy IMO.

She became famous as Sheila Grant in Brookside back in the early 80s, along with Ricky Tomlinson, who she also co-starred with in the early 90s BBC comedy "The Royle Family".

The irony is, like I said in a topic I wrote last week, Android carers would go a long way to solving the current staff crisis in the care sector, they wouldn't need to be paid, can work long hours, and wouldn't go on annual leave every other week.

I agree @SheffieldMan1976! Ooh I didn't know Sue become famous from Brookside, my first memory of her is The Royle Family which is such a classic🤣

Android carers are an interesting conversation. I don't think we will see them by 2029 but it really wouldn't surprise me if in the future(40/50 years) we see some type of AI/androids take on caring roles in some format!

Trouble is, most of us will be long gone by then, so it'd be too late.
