Carers element backdate

Hi all, I received this letter on my journal today, it says 20th may, but my case worker said that the backdate will be requested from July 2025, does this letter mean it will only backdated from may this year ?

Any help would be appreciated, I phoned them and got 2 different answers

Yes the date given for the change happening is May 2026, so this is when they want to backdate from.
