LCWRA backpay, Is this lawful?

in Universal Credit (UC)

Hi. I applied for LCWRA March 2026, I have been awarded it 2 weeks ago. I have been sent backpay on the new lower rate...is this unlawful?

    Not March 2026, but 2025

    Yes you should be getting the higher LCWRA amount.

    Looking at your past posts, you count as a "pre 2026 claimant" under Regulation 27, Schedule 5a, Paragraph 3 of the UC Regulations.

    Write a Journal note (using the payment option) stating you have been incorrectly given the lower LCWRA amount, under the above UC Regulations you count as a pre 2026 claimant and are entitled to the higher LCWRA amount.
