Pip assessment

in PIP, DLA, ADP & AA

Hi I just recieved a text stating I am having face to face assessment next week. I am shocked because last assessment which was my first assessment was on phone. I have multiple conditions and I would like to have phone assessment. Can I ask for one if yes then how? Please help and guide.

    If you are unable to attend a face to face assessment you can ask for this to be changed to a telephone assessment. The text that you received from the assessment provider should contain a number that you can call. You will probably be asked to explain why you would struggle to take part in a face to face assessment so it worth considering how to respond to this before making the call For example it may be that your mobility is poor and that it would be very difficult to get to the assessment centre, that you experience chronic fatigue and would find the journey too much or that you would need someone to come with you due to anxiety or panic attacks and that you have no one who is able to accompany you. The assessment provider is required to make reasonable adjustments.

    update;

    I just called them and they didn’t even ask anything. I have asked if I could have a phone assessment because I am unable to attend due to health issues and he said yes lets me look into dates and times for you to book a phone assessment and he booked for a week later. The face to face one was for 5 august now they booked for 10 august. It was Health assessment asvisory service.

    Aww that's great news @535mum! How did you find applying for PIP? I've been tempted but worried after seeing how hard it is for some people.

    I have had DLA, PIP, ADP unbroken since about 2008. It isn't always hard to claim!

    To be honest It was a hard and painful procedure. But I think I was lucky enough and got awarded for three years and this is my first review. I am someone who has been conditioned to hide my pain so it was pretty hard for me to express in forms and druring phone assesment. I had strong evidence from my gp and consultant. But still I think I have been lucky.

    That's good to hear, I only ever hear/read negative outcomes or stories about it so nice to know it isn't always that way.
