hello everyone

Myself and partner first applied for universal credit in October 2025 however they continually deduct quite large amounts from our benefits and I have have spoken to universal credit about these deductions and they don’t seem to know anything however I have contact debt management they don’t seem to know anything either with the deductions problem is we can’t pay some of our bills and as one debit it paid they seem to come up with another debt we owe and it’s been going on for 9 months now we was told to go into a job centre but was meet with a very unfriendly off handed woman who didn’t want to listen to anything we had to say. I wanted to claim compensation or prosecute the DWP for the grief and hassle they have caused us over the time we have been registered with them but apparently you can’t take this action so it seems they can do what they want and get away with it

The first step would be to find out what they think you owe and why. Submit a SAR to DWP, particularly relating to debt management, and repayments and find out why they think you owe them and how much

What are the deductions listed as on your statements?
