I have just started using hearing aids - Phonak Audeo I90 Sphere in both ears. For other users of hearing aids, how do you get used to having something in your ears?

I've worn hearing aids for over 40 years since August 1984 @Cindi27973, it was difficult at first, mainly because I got bullied for it at school, called "Radio Allen" by complete and utter ableist morons who need to touch grass.

At first I had 2, but then I cut down to just the one in my left ear, mainly because of the aforementioned bullying, and then about 2 years ago I enquired about having the op for a Cochlear Implant, like Fury on Gladiators has, but our oh so wonderful NHS said I'd cope better going back to wearing 2 hearing aids!

False! It's been a nightmare, so many trips back to Audiology because the aids keep coming apart when I put them in or take them out, even though after 40 years I know to be gentle with them.

Yet when staff here rang up a few weeks back, they were informed there's no appointments up at the Royal Hallamshire till around this time next year! You what?

I mean come on, I know the NHS is currently in crisis mode but no appointments for over a year for an URGENT issue?
