in Everyday life

I am looking to leave a long term relationship but financially quite stuck.

I have a few health conditions one of which is endometriosis which makes working incredibly difficult, I also care for my autistic daughter who currently cannot be left alone,she also will not stay with anyone else.

What am I suppose to do?

    Hi,

    You could put your name down for council or Housing Association housing. The rent on those properties is generally more affordable than private rental. Though sadly there are long waiting lists for some types of property. If you and your daughter would be able to manage a flat then those are often the quickest properties to access.

    Regarding income, you would most likely be entitled to Universal Credit. If your daughter has DLA or PIP then you would be able to claim Carers Allowance for her. Plus additional elements on UC. If she does not have a qualifying benefit then you would need to claim the health element of UC for yourself by going through a Work Capability Assessment.

    Thank you. DLA claim is awaiting tribunal although I don't hold much hope.
