Hi, my name is A_G_blue! Found fit to work by UC
New to all this - very active person until last November. On PIP - standard both - Blue badge and ESA and UC. As my work decided to get rid of me as my attendance was low (well yes i was on FIT notes). Now DWP UC have deemed me FIT to work despite gp signing off since November. So joys the ESA have stopped payments…just received some not so happy mail. But I haven’t even got a job or had my work coach meeting(15/8/26)
What is happening?? I know these departments aren’t aligned but really this is dreadful.

Hi,
Unfortunately, as you were found fit for work, you are no longer entitled to New Style ESA.
You will continue to get UC at the basic rate, and will be expected to look for work.
If you disagree with the result of the WCA then you now have to make a Mandatory Reconsideration. If you are still found fit for work after the MR, you will then have to take it to a tribunal.

Hi @A_G_blue and welcome to the community. I'm so sorry that you lost your job, it must be an incredibly stressful time for you. If you want to appeal the decision you should do a Mandatory Reconsideration and hopefully they'll reverse their decision. Here is some information about how to do this
Did they explain why they found you fit to work?

@A_G_blue This isn't a new thing, they've been finding people who clearly aren't, fit to work, for years! In December 2015 they declared me UNFIT to work even though I'd spent most of the previous 20 years doing voluntary for almost every known Charity in Sheffield, so to me it was obvious I could work in SOME capacity.
