Do You Have Any Sunday Evening Rituals?🕰️🛏️

I was chatting with a friend on my lunch break and she mentioned that she changes her bedsheets every Sunday because it makes her feel relaxed and more prepared for the week if she know she has a new fresh bed to start the week.

This got me thinking about the small routines we rely on to make the upcoming week run a little smoother or just feel a bit easier.

For me, I like to meal plan and prep ahead. If you’ve seen me on the what's for tea tonight discussion you might have noticed I tend to eat the exact same meals on the exact same days every week😄. I find it saves me a lot of time and energy.

Do you have any Sunday habits or weekly routines that help set you up for the week ahead?

I change my sheets each Sunday and have an extra long bath soak in the evening each Sunday (I normally wash in the mornings). I usually have an early night on a Sunday and go to bed with a book.

Turn off all electronic devices and just rest in silence. It is boring at first, but after an hour you can truly calm down. Afterwards cooking food without any screen, sound, or device, and being able to hear how you cut an onion or how the food cooks in the pan.

  • I might sit wondering where the weekend went and dreading Monday morning 🤣

I do a little meal prep for the week ahead and write some daily checklists as well. If I’m really good I’ll finish up with some meditation so I go to bed in the best frame of mind

Ha I know @Journeyman, the weekend goes so quick sometimes! In a blink an eye😄 What sort of things do you meal prep?

That sounds so peaceful @HelloYes 😍 I've started to turn off my iPad if I'm doing tasks like laundry or the dishes sometimes because I use it a lot for background noise so i'll have an old episode of a show on, a podcast,a youtube video etc and I've noticed it does help me feel a bit more present and less distracted.

Hope the dentist goes okay @SheffieldMan1976.

A bath always feels like such a treat @Emilee, especially if there's nice bubble bath or bath salts involved! Sounds like you have a very relaxing routine on Sunday evenings, do you find it helps relaxes you for the week?

I don't have one but I'm thinking that maybe I should. Like a nice reset before the week begins. A bath sounds lovely @Emilee but I'm usually interrupted by the cats wanting attention! Do you use any bath salts?

I used to do lots of colouring, maybe I could do that again. It'd be nice to get away from technology for a while like you @HelloYes.

What kind of meditation do you do @Journeyman?

  • Creature of habit here, I do the same evening ritual every evening, regardless of day 😂

Dinner, clean up, read, wash, radio, bed.

What do you listen to on the radio @Mr_Shoes_Tied? I've recently been listening to Sorry I Haven't a Clue.

  • I had to look that up as I'd not heard of it before, looks like a laugh.

Radio 6 and Absolute Radio most evenings for me

You should definitely give it a go @Mr_Shoes_Tied. It's been around since the 70s! Radio 6 is good for discovering new artists, great choice.
