Starting out with claiming pip advice

Hello all, I just wanted a bit of advice from anyone that knows, I started my first PIP claim 7th of July, all forms have been received completed and sent back, I’ve had an email from Capita saying they have received my forms on the 6th August, nothing at all since then, how long is average to get the phone call assessment?, I’ve never bothered claiming before as I have always managed my conditions very well and continued to work all my life, it’s only now that I’m over 60 that I am struggling big time and realising regrettably that my body can no longer do what I want it to, I have no air in my lungs to continue with ‘normal’ life as I knew it, any advice would be welcome, thanks.

Hi waiting times seem to vary quite a lot.

You may have a telephone assessment, video call or paper based assessment.

You could ring them to ask about when you are likely to be assessed.

Hi all, it’s been over 9 weeks now, just wondering if anyone knows when I will be given a date for an assessment I’ve had 3 texts so far, two from dwp and one from capita

Unfortunately no one here can answer that question, you would need to enquire with Capita about the current average waiting time.
