About my enquiry regarding effect on my UC if I was to go down to Donny for that University course.

I'm still not sure if it's an option, I'll do some emailing and Googling.

But I'd really like to learn how to make games in a formal Classroom setting, even at my age.

Thank you for contacting us. Sorry for the late reply. We have a high volume of emails at the moment. 

 

We have information on our website about applying for Universal Credit while you are a student.

 

Most full-time students are not eligible for Universal Credit. But you can claim Universal Credit as a full-time student if all the following apply:

• you receive PIP
• your Work Capability Assessment says you have a 'limited capability for work'
• you have limited capability for work before you start your studies (this applies to UC claims on or after 15 December 2021)

 

If you are eligible for a student loan, this will count as income for Universal Credit. If you choose not to take a loan, your Universal Credit will reduce as if you took the loan. 

 

You can use the Policy in Practice benefits calculator to work out how student income affects your benefits. Alternatively, you could call us for a calculation over the phone. 

 

You should be better off overall with the student loan and Universal Credit. This is because £110 of the loan is disregarded per month. Why do you feel like you can’t do the course? Is it about having enough money to live on?

It might be an option, main thing that puts me off is the logistics of getting there and back because the House car won't always be available.

Plus in order to facilitate going to the course all day on a Thursday, I'd have to pack in my current course, which might ruffle a few feathers in the family and social services.

The cost, and time to do the courses, lack thereof.

Plus most of the good courses are American, like on Zenva.com.

Have you looked at YouTube videos that teach you how to use free software? I've learned loads that way.

I have, but being a man, I can't multi-task, follow a YouTube video and do it in Unreal Engine or Unity.
