UC savings changed - Should I change it or should I just leave it or should I ma
hello yes I received a email this morning asking me to check and confirm my universal credit and told me to check my to-do list. For me to confirm my name and address my bank details my contact , if I was living alone questions about ability to work if I was a carer for somebody and I think the final one was my savings if they were correct I ticked all of the boxes. The only thing I changed was my phone number I forgot to change my savings so at the time 14 months ago when I set up my universal credit account my savings were just over £2500 but now I only have £150. I didn’t change that and now I’m worried can I go back into my universal credit account and change this? Should I change it or should I just leave it or should I maybe contact them.

Hi @Bronson73 and a warm welcome to the community from me!
There is no need to worry and this will have no impact on the amount of Universal Credit you receive. This is because under DWP rules, any savings under £6,000 are ignored when calculating your monthly payments so your entitlement at £2,500 is identical to your entitlement at £150.
But it is good to keep your journal up to date so its worth logging back into your account and updating them😊0
