PIP backpayment confusion
I put in Change of circumstances last year then when I got my desision this year I had to do a mandatory reconsideration. I now apparently get enhanced both but they only backdate it to date of desision not the change of circumstances. I tried asking why but they said that’s how it works and said he wasn’t explaining it again when I can’t listen to him properly because I was using my transcript app. Is this normal. I asked CAB for help but they were just hanging up on them.

When last year did you report a change of circumstances and what happened as a result of this? Did they send you a form to complete and did they carry out an assessment? Usually any decision would be backdated to the date on which you reported the change of circumstances . If you had not reported a change yourself but PIP decided to carry out a review themselves then the award would only be backdated to the date of the decision. It sounds as if CAB tried to call PIP but were cut off. I would suggest that you ask CAB to write a letter for you to send to PIP challenging their decision.

I put it in in September filled out the form and sent it back in October. I wanted a face to face interview but they had me do a phone call in January instead. Desision was made in march and MR put in in April. I had to ask for the review. My health had been worse for 2 years before I asked for it.
