Muscle relaxant cream suggestions

I was wondering if I could get some advice of products that have helped people. Not sure if this is the right place to put it, happy to move or delete as required.

 

Context: I have CP that makes my hips tight, this is currently making my lower back tight with a knot that I am looking to relieve. I need to do some stretches that will help. 

 

I just wondered if anyone knows any creams that are muscle relaxants to help relieve the knot. I have been using heating and cooling gel that does relieve some, but I don't think it actually gets to the muscle. I was looking at Volterol, but I get the feeling it just numbs rather than relaxes, but I could be wrong.

 

Just wondering if anyone has any products that they would recommend.

    @CJ_Scope I've experienced pain in my left hand and knee, opposite side to my cerebral palsy. I started with hot water bottles and hand warmers, which worked on occasion. I've also tried Volterol cream but the biggest relief for me was doing regular, gentle exercises after I was referred to physio. (A lot of back and forth from the GP for this)

    I've recently joined a gym and swimming and using the hot tub have really helped my muscles.
