Virtual walking tours, somewhere interesting?

I've just been trying out our new super-fast broadband, and have discovered lots of videos of virtual walking tours.  So far today I have been strolling along the Barcelona beach front, stepping between lots of sunbathers by the waterfront in Copenhagen, and hiking through the Arches National Park in Utah, all from my armchair with a cup of coffee and a piece of cheesecake. This is my kind of travel!  😁 It's also very timely, as I am desperate for a holiday, but very unlikely to get a real one this year - so this seems like a great possible alternative! I also can't walk much at all now, so being able to have 'virtual mobility' is great.

So I am looking for ideas of good places to 'visit', if anyone uses these virtual walking tours and has any recommendations?  Preferably free, but I will consider paying for any really good ones if necessary.  I used to be very outdoors-ey, so I tend to like the seaside/lakes/hiking type of walking rather than city centres, but I'd also be interested in cultural tours, like art galleries, museums, heritage sites etc. Or anything wacky, like a virtual folk festival or something.  😊

Are there any wannabe virtual travel agents out there? Any recommendations for my virtual holiday destinations, please let me know!

Switzerland or Austria might be another destination to look out for on Youtube. Lots of green space and cows!

I hadn't even thought of Japan, but I'm now going to spend a lot of virtual time there! The walking videos are very peaceful and relaxing. And the other video of the Frieda Kahlo museum is lush!

Glad you liked them @Scooby222! There's some beautiful countryside in Japan. I've never been there in person but I've watched a couple of travel videos of other people's trips. It's nice to have these tour videos to get a feel for a place without having to leave your house ☺️

I agree, and I've also realised that I can combine the 'walking' ones with my seated bicycle exerciser thingy. So I can get fitter at the same time! All good.
