Happy Monday, everyone! What's getting you through the week?
Hey folks,
Hope you're all having a decent start to the week so far.
I was just sitting here with my cuppa, looking out the window and wondering how everyone's doing. Life has been a bit up and down lately for me, but finding those little moments of comfort—like a good hot drink, a comfy blanket, or a catchy song—really seem to help.

Hey @louisowen01! I think that's the way to go. Finding some pleasure in the little things can definitely make the days feel easier.
Have you got anything planned for your week, or will you just be taking it easy?

Looking forward to 2 of my grandchildren coming for tea on Wednesday ❤️ and seeing my granddaughters face when I tell her I have registered for 'Oasis' tickets… yes grandma is still 'down with the kids' 😂

You're a cool grandma @vikingqueen 😎 are your grandchildren big Oasis fans?

My 17 year old granddaughter is obsessed with them and is willing to travel the world to see them 😂 registration doesn't guarantee tickets but at least I tried. Fingers crossed we get them although I have no idea of the cost…🤨

Fingers crossed @vikingqueen! When will you find out if you get any?

Great that you bring this up, Louise. Indeed, ups and downs here as well, but thankfully today I am having a good day - hurray!
Normally it is just putting one foot in front of the other, simply allowing things to happen and getting a few things done that I either enjoy or give me satisfaction for having it done.
And today It was ever so nice to be sitting outside, feel the sun on my face, and listen to the birds around me.
Fingers crossed for the tickets, @vikingqueen Hopefully they don't cost you an arm and a leg.
And what about your day, @Rosie_Scope

I think it's round about the 24th of this month.
The prices shouldn't be too bad, between £72 to about £270ish, sounds a lot but if I can't make my granddaughters dream come true what sort of a grandma am I!! My daughter paid an arm and a leg last year to see them and I believe there was uproar over the prices.

Aw, appreciate you checking in, Rosie! Honestly just taking it slow this week and trying not to overwhelm myself. Keeping it low-key with a lot of tea and good music. How about you, got anything nice lined up for the next few days?

Glad to hear you're having a good day today, SmellyBin! Sitting outside in the sun and listening to the birds sounds like the absolute best way to recharge. Honestly, that "one foot in front of the other" approach is really the only way to get through the rough patches sometimes. Hope the rest of your week stays just as bright!

I honestly think all that keeps me going is sheer stubbornness, an inner resilience and just a refusal to stop fighting.
I now tend to listen to both my mind and body each day, I then manage what can and can’t be done on a day by day basis.
I have a few irons in the fire such as a trip to Manchester to watch Chicago Blues Brothers Musical, watching Deep Purple in Brum in November and further in the distance is two weeks in Turkey in 2028.
It will be 3 years since my last breakdown and massive life change in October and I am managing things day by day as I know around that time in October alongside with the big C coming up I know my mental health will tank to a low level.0 -
I love this discussion @louisowen01 😊 It's incredibly important to take notice of the smaller things. Have you practised mindfulness? I like to notice all the elements of making a cup of tea - the sounds, smells, the heat from the steam and the water changing colour. It's a quick little thing to help you feel grounded.

Taking it slow and keeping things low-key is honestly the best way to handle busy weeks. Sometimes you just need to step back, grab a hot drink, and reset for a bit. Definitely a solid approach to keeping things manageable.🙂

Man, that takes a lot of strength to recognize and plan for those tough patches ahead of time. Having those events lined up—especially the Chicago Blues Brothers and Deep Purple—gives you some great things to genuinely look forward to when October hits. Taking it day by day and knowing your own limits is really the only way to get through it. Hang in there!
