Holter Monitor Question

in Everyday life

I have an appointment at the hospital for a Holter monitor. I think I will have to wear it for 24 hours. I understand the equipment is on loan and then I will have to return it before I can get the results. Does anyone know if you have to return it in person yourself as the patient or can a support worker or Home help return it on your behalf. Thank you

    Usually anyone can return these kind of things, they are interested in getting them back not who actually does it.

    Hi @MBPJS when I had a Holter monitor it was for 24 hours and my husband took it back to the hospital.

    Just to make sure ask at the hospital when they fit the machine for you.

    You get the results after they take them off the machine, for me this was a few days later.

    just check before with them that you know how to stop the recording by switching off the machine correctly

    Thank you for your responses. Another question - While I am wearing the monitor, does anyone know what the limitations or restrictions are

    So can I engage in online video calls

    I found some information on restrictions while wearing a holter monitor, it doesn't mention online video calls but it's best to check with your doctor if you're unsure.

    Thank you. This is very helpful information.

    I’m feeling okay and it will be good to get on with next level investigation and hopefully I will only have to wear the monitor for 24 Hours and the results will be stress related and I’m arranging for Home help to return it for me.

    Don’t really enjoy travelling on the bus and going to hospitals and finding the department. So I will look forward to the vending machine and the Choco milk as I love the choco milk 😍

    @MBPJS, when I had one they said they wanted me to go about my everyday life and do everything I normally do, except swim (or get it wet).

    I did video calls, exercised, ate too much, slept (uncomfortably) and everything else. I returned it myself but they did say anyone could return it, they gave me a box to put it back in and I had to leave it at their reception desk before 9am, although I'm sure different places will have different times. I hope it all goes well.
