The earliest landline phone I remember us having is this beauty from BT. Did anyone else have the same one?
My first mobile phone was this Philips one. The screen was so tiny!

This was my first phone! It didn't have Bluetooth so I remember begging my mam for a couple of pound to buy ringtones🤣 The Phillips one looks like a calculator!

I had a feeling yours might be a bit more advanced than mine @Mary_Scope 😂 Imagine reading text messages on mine! Oh the ringtones, that's a throwback. I found this advert from around 2002. It was so difficult to choose when I could only afford one!

My first mobile was a Nokia, possibly 3210 though I might be one number out.
I do remember the first cordless landline my Mum had. Had an enormous telescopic aerial that you had to pull out each time, try not to catch it on the door frames as you walk though, and then close it up again before putting it back on the 'hook' at the end. 😄

Was it this one @OverlyAnxious? I seem to remember everyone had Nokias at one point. It's weird how barely anyone has them now. Do you remember the removable cases you could change?

Not sure of my 1st mobile but this is my landline now. It's push button but my grandchildren think it's 'cool' 😎

I love this @vikingqueen! The colour is gorgeous and I do love a retro phone. My mum still has a cream one with the rotating number pad. We used it when I was a teenager. I promise I'm not that old 😂

my parents had a yellow phone like that but it was a rotary one and my first mobile was a big motorola, i had to replace it as it got run over by a car, it still worked but the screen got smashed

Wow I'm amazed it still worked @kreacher! Shame the screen was unusable. I have also had a phone run over but it was an iPhone and it was definitely not working afterwards 😂

my parents bought me my first mobile phone for Christmas in 1999.’
26 years between the Panasonic and the 17Pro Max I have today. Just shows the leaps and bounds they have come on as technology has evolved and matured

Oh I think I remember those phones @Rag_793! I remember the little light at the top flashing green or red depending on if you had signal. It's amazing how far we've come. It's also interesting to see how we went from big to small phones and now they're getting bigger again!

absolutely! Phones are crazy these days, I see Apple has now released a foldable screen phone 😬. Owners’ best get used to having them repaired like many of the Android 🤖variants.

This is Apple’s newest foldable that is around £2,000 as well.
I will stick to just the one screen, Apple have been really bullet proof in many areas.

Pretty sure we had one of these when I was very young.. We also had shared lines, so you'd hear snippets of conversation. AND 1 digit off from the local pub so you'd sometimes get late night random calls asking for 'Steve' or some such.
Then one of these.
My first mobile I think was one of Sony Erricsons early phones mostly cos my brother worked for Erricson telecoms.
Battery is failing on my current iPhone SE so either replacing or new phone.
Very intrigued by the Graphene OS for security but its not so well supported with apps.
I hate the enshitifications of tech and things and "planned obsolescence,"0 -

tightfrugal… 😅Nokia didn't really adapt to the Smartphone market. But they do make a lot of the infrastructure for it instead.

I don't remember our landline, but this was my first mobile:
Sony Ericsson T300 with an attachable camera gadget. Cutting edge at the time that you could take a terrible picture with your phone and set it as your background! I really miss having things with buttons rather than just touch screens.

Here I show my age a bit, as a family the first phone I remember was a rotary phone as in @JW77 's post, the black one.
My first phone was a , analogue, 20 mins talk time, 10 number memory ( I think ) but it was portable in your pocket.

What do you mean by a shared line @JW77? Did you have different phone numbers but they used the same line to connect?
I had one of those too @Emilee! But I think most people did!
I've never seen that one before @CarNineSix. I'm not surprised it's a Nokia. 20 minutes talk time is barely anything but I bet at the time it was amazing!

I just remember this Nokia I used to have. Typing was amazing on it but that was about it 😆.
