Show us your mug! ๐ต
The weather is cooling down which means more cups of tea, coffee, or whatever warms you up. I have a big collection of mugs and choosing one each day is a tough task! They are all special in their own way ๐
What mug are you using today and what are you drinking?
Here's mine today! A Halloween theme as it's almost October. The witches hat lid keeps my green tea and lemon nice and hot.

You'd hate me and my mugs, it's a pile of randoms accumulated over the years including many freebies and a giant Sports Direct mug.
I always use whatever falls out of the cupboard when I open it, right now it's this:
โฆ and it's not got tea or coffee inside, but Fanta!

You're certainly one for a bit of a controversial opinion @Carl_Scope. Fanta in a mug? Mugs should only be for hot drinks! I wonder what everyone else thinks ๐ค
I also have a giant Sports Direct mug! Is there anyone who doesn't?
1 -
No no no. Mugs are for all drinks!

Oh wow these mugs are fab!! I'm crazy for mugs.
@Carl_Scope what is the design? Looks Christmassy, maybe?
@Rosie_Scope what a hoot!!! I'm having a Halloween party and that would be a great addition, including you too of course ๐ So you're a Yorkshire tea fan? Me too. It's really hard to find here so I buy a massive bag of it from Amazon. This mug is my favourite tea mug. It holds half a litre and is made of porcelain. It comes with a cork & metal cover and a metal strainer. I love the soft pink colour and the tree design. It's my favourite way to start the day.

I'm on @Carl_Scope side this time! We use mugs for all drinks in our house, not just hot ones๐ Sometimes even gravy when we can't find the jug!
That's a huge bag @StarryEyed! How long does it usually last you?
That's also a very pretty mug, I love the shade of pink๐ I'd never thought about mugs with a lid (apart from travel ones) before this discussion and seeing yours and @Rachel_Scope has got me thinking what a great idea it is! No more forgetting about the drink and it getting cold!!
These are 2 of my favourite mugs, they are heavy and big so they warm your hands up really well which is a bonus๐0 -
Starting to think I need to up my mug game!
Good spot @StarryEyed, I think it used to be part of a set of Christmas-themed mugs, there's a Mrs Claus one somewhere too I believe.
I like the cover on yours, it looks like a good size too.
@Mary_Scope, yep, same. Mugs are for all drinks (as well as gravy and custard!). I don't think we even have a gravy boat, it's always in a mug.
Right now I've got a Playstation mug with plain tap water.

@Mary_Scope the 480 bags last about 6 months because I typically have three bags in the cup every morning. I also add a bag of chai tea, a bag of camomile with anise tea and a bag of ginger tea. This is a spectacular concoction for the GI tract. I used to use the loose-leaf Yorkshire (I see @Rachel_Scope has the gorgeous tin!), but it's too expensive now. If my hiatus hernia is acting up, I skip the black tea. Here are the mug options on Amazon Spain. They're not in the UK.
@Carl_Scope the cover is actually made of bamboo. I just saw that on the link. My bad. I still have my favourite Christmas mug out. Just couldn't bring myself to put it away after Christmas. ๐

Those are so pretty @StarryEyed! The lids are such a good idea.
Agreed on the mug usage for gravy and other foods. I eat baked beans from a mug @Rachel_Scope. I make microwave mug cakes too sometimes. Mugs are for all things.
Our mugs are all plain. Because I don't use them very often my partner has full reign over the mug collection and chooses to have all-matching mugs. Very boring if you ask me. They all look like this:
Apart from Christmas time where I have one Christmassy mug that I will be adding to the cupboard whether he likes it or not ๐

I don't know which is worse: drinking Fanta (faster cognitive decline) or drinking fizzy pop from a mug? ๐ฎ
Mugs are for hot drinks, maybe soup. A bubble show in a glass is far more interesting!

Ceramic mugs are too heavy.

What do you use instead?

"A bubble show in a glass" ๐ฎ I've never thought of it that way and now I really want to get a fizzy drink and watch it in a glass.

They're so pretty @egiste2r, I'm far too clumsy and would break something so delicate

Ok I can concede that gravy can go in a mug. It's hot though so that's why it's ok @Mary_Scope!
@Anhedonia2 Your mug is lovely. I'm definitely a fan of a lid. I love Halloween. I've already put up some decorations ๐I'm having a Halloween party too! Are you dressing up? And don't tell anyone, but the tin has Aldi's own brand tea bags in! The Ringtons tin is for my green tea with lemon.
Ooh they're fancy @egiste2r. I have a couple of tea sets too. The last time I used one was for the King's coronation!

Why use it so rarely? You need to live well every day!

Maybe you're right @egiste2r! I would feel very fancy.

Creano Jumbo Tea Glass 450ml
I was gifted this gorgeous glass last Christmas - and tea tastes even better than in bone china. It must be one of the two for me! When I'm out of clean mugs, I use a glass beaker with a spoon it it.
Coffee is fine in a porcelain mug (I'm not fussy ๐)

Just ordered ๐ฆ
(Pot of Greed - for when your hot chocolate has perhaps a few too many marshmallows ๐)
