Does anyone know about post-polio syndrome?

Hello, I have a friend who had polio in her early childhood and was left with a slightly wasted leg (we grew up together) and more or less recovered. Now, in her late 70s she is having problems which I think might be post-polio syndrome (neither of us had heard of it). She is depressed and a bit passive (giving up) at the moment and I want to find out about pps and try to help her. That's why I have joined this forum. I look forward to learning and hearing your shared posts.

That is so wonderful of you to want to help your friend. Sorry that she's struggling. Does she have any support from her GP?

Hi @Jeanie8. I've never heard of this disease so read the links posted by @Rachel_Scope. How dreadful. Hopefully her docs find something simpler to manage or that it's a mild case and can be easily managed. Here's more info from the Mayo Clinic. The first link is symptoms and causes.
