My son had encephalitis last year & has been left with a severe acquired brain injury. He is dependant on others for all of his basic needs. Before his illness he was a bright, happy little boy

Welcome to the community and thanks for introducing yourself. How old is your son?0 -
Hi Debbie, He is 8 now, but 7 when he was taken suddenly ill. It's been a rollercoaster since.0

I hope you're getting all the right support to help you through it all. I imagine you've been through a whole range of emotions since he became ill. If you ever want to talk, there's plenty of us here willing to listen0

Thanks Debbie! It's definitely been a roller coaster & all I want to do is take him home - he is in rehabilitation at the moment, but struggling with social worker & care needs. Is there any advise or help? Thanks again. Kate0
