PIP
I HAVE NOT BEEN SEEN BY THE MENTAL HEALTH TEAM FIRST APPOINTMENT ON THE 12 JANUARY 2017. I HAD MY PIP ASSESSMENT ON THE 24 NOVEMBER 2016. PLEASE ADVISE WHETHER A DECISION WILL BE MADE PRIOR TO THE MENTAL HEALTH TEAM SEEING ME OR AFTER. I HAVE SEEN MY GP AND HE INFORMED ME PIP HAD BEEN IN CONTACT TO REPORT THEIR CONCERNS
THANK

Hi peterchahal,
If you only had your face to face assessment for PIP on 24 November then you are unlikely to get a PIP decision much before 12 January. It usually takes the DWP at least 4-6 weeks and sometimes longer. Having said that I can't say for definite how long they will take.
If you want them to wait before making a decision on your PIP until after 12 January you can telephone them and request this. They may agree to this or they may feel that they have enough information about you (ie from your claim form, GP and any other evidence you may have sent in already) to make a decision.
You can always send in additional information from the mental health team after you have seen them in January.
Let us know how you get on.
Best wishes,
Michael
