Hi, my name is nat my lo has been diagnosed with brain tumour last yr I'm a single parent.

Does anyone know where to get the best help with getting a specialist Car seat and sensory toys?. Im not getting much help from NHS and would love to get some physio/hydrotherapy set up for my son. Also does anyone know of holidays abroad that they can recommend we go. My son is diagnosed as terminal so I'm trying to make the most of it. Any suggestions are much appreciated.

    Hi @nat2theo,

    Welcome to the community.

    For sensory toys:

    @CheshireCat suggested:
    Newlife Charity? They lend "play pods" to families of disabled children for three months at a time, free of charge, in categories of auditory, visual and interactive. We had some good toys from them!

    @Emma suggested:
    Toy libraries often have toys and equipment for disabled children, and they're a great way to try before you buy. You can find your nearest toy library here: http://www.netmums.com/local-to-you/local/index/indoor-play/toy-libraries
    What sort of holiday are you interested in?

    I've heard many times that Disney is very accessible and an amazing experience - if that's something your son would be interested in!

    Hi Nat welcome to the community

    New Life are very good and they could also help with a car seat. React is another charity who help out and they both respond quickly.

    Have you applied to The Family Fund?https://www.familyfund.org.uk/

    also there are organisations like When You Wish Upon a Star - that could arrange holidays x

    Thank you for your help, i have contacted newlife but they have said it could take 9 months, which is too long as you can imagine he needs stuff now. I will try react and hopefully we will get somewhere. Thank you

    Have you tried asking your local freemasons they were really good to me and provided the funds for me to get a wheelchair pretty quickly

    Sounds like a good idea- i would not have thought of that, thank you. Isn't it a joke you can't get this stuff on NHS.
