ESA - son has been placed in support group - do we need to send sick notes ?

Hi, new to all this benefits - my 24 yr old son has mental Heath problems & I have been sending sick notes to get £52 ESA since March, the last letter from ESA says benefit has gone up because " a decision in your capability for work" you have been placed in the support group & you meet the criteria for support group, this means you are not required to take part in any work related activity ? Not sure if he still needs sick notes ? !! Any other advice about the complicated benefits system appreciated !

Hi @Jacquelyn, No he doesn't need to send sick notes if he's been put in the support group.

Thank you so much for your prompt replies ! I have googled but it's so confusing ! Also he's been put on a higher rate of £125 a week now ..... I personally think it would do him good to find some sort of part time work, does anyone know if he would be allowed to do this ?
