You could ask your GP to refer you to a specialist ENT unit preferably at a teaching hospital.

    Hi @Jazzguitar

Yes, I agree, your first step is to ask your GP to refer you to your local audiology or ENT clinic. They’ll check your ears for any obvious causes (such as wax), do some hearing tests for you and if needed arrange further tests (such as an MRI scan of the inner ears). They can also discuss options with you for managing the hearing loss if needed.

    Good luck

Thank you for your reply. I am in Plymouth Devon. I guess Derriford Hospital may have an audiology clinic? Neville
