So do I Rachel as a Dad trying to do all the right things, hold down a Job, provide for my girls, take an active caring role etc, etc. My wife gets amazing support from friends. My friends steer clear of all conversation regarding my disabled daughter. Occasionally all I want to hear is hey your doing ok just to calm all my own anxiety and stress about stuff we have to cope with. With no family. I feel I am on an island looking out across an uncharted ocean.

Thank you for this wonderful video. I have been myself fortifying my feelings with much thoughts about caregiving-and being a caregiver. Forums like these with resources like the above video have really really come through. I have been reading a lot on basic psychology and found especially this Psych Intro book by Spencer A Rathus important for real life examples i could connect to like for mood disorders. I also want to share with you two of the wonderful blogs that i read where honest posts about caregiving and the grey nature of caregiving is fully discussed. Caregiving burnout and depression are also addressed in Caregiver Warrior and The Caregiving Space..
