in PIP, DLA, and AA
I will be 68 next Birthday have been taken off DLA and got to claim PiP what chance do I have very worried

    Hello degger and welcome

    There is a difference in the criteria between DLA and PIP and it is important to understand the points system, descriptors and the criteria for an award. A good starting place is the self test on the B&W site

    It is especially important if you require the mobility element as this is the only time you can set your on going award. By that I mean if your accept a standard award then you will not be able to increase to the enhanced rate in the future.

    PIP is not so much about your condition or illness, it is more concerned with functionallity in everyday tasks. That being said medical evidence is important to back up your needs and a very specific GP's letter detailing your problems with the descriptors will help.

    Don't expect the DWP to ask for any medical evidence from your GP, The job of supplying evidence is down to you no matter what they say.
