This picture is of my labrador, Bowser. He is lying in a field of snow, and has lots of snow on his face. He is also wearing boots.

Bowser and I have been accepted to train as an assistance dog team. (I prefer Service Dog to AD. Personal thing. But the charity I’m working with use AD).

Practically this means that over the next year or so he and I will be working hard to become the best we can. He can already perform “task work”, those things that help mitigate my disability, like picking things up, bringing my meds and fetching water from the fridge.

Does anyone else have an assistance dog? One they trained themselves or otherwise I’d be keen to network.

Thanks,

B
