My daughter has been in hospital paralysed from waist down for 4 months and I have never claimed for anything before and don’t know where to start! Any ideas please?

Hello @cori135 and welcome to the community. I am glad you found us, but very very sorry to hear of your daughter's problems.
I don't have a quick answer to your specific question, though I suspect your introduction post will soon be moved to a forum where others will know more, but I would suggest you start by having a look at one or two of the links lower down the screen,
A place to start might be:
https://community.scope.org.uk/categories/ask-a-benefits-advisor
Give that a try, see what you find, and keep in touch.
Warmest best wishes to you, and to your daughter,

Hello Corrie and welcome to the community.
First of all you will need to know if you are in a full service Universal Credit area, you can enter your postcode to find out here: https://universalcreditinfo.net/postcode
If you are in a full service area and qualify (see notes on above link) you can claim Universal Credit online at https://www.gov.uk/apply-universal-credit
Second you can check what benefits you may be entitled to using this benefit calculator: https://benefits-calculator.turn2us.org.uk/AboutYou
Hope this helps.1
