Hi there
Have you reported your condition on your uc journal
If you have and provide fit notes your work coach should refer you for the work capability process
You said you have only been on uc since feb 2018 that is over 3 years si it is a long time or was that a typo
They can sanction you if you don't carry out your work commitments
But if you are awaiting assessment they can switch off your work commitments
If you are not happy with your work coach you can request a different one -
I have chronic pancretitus/anxiety disorder and depression cant travel on public transport etc they had me going up there to look for work,I was getting so ill I couldn't sleep panic attacks all the way there, at nights before I hadto go up was vomiting and diareah so mutch pain as it was agitating my pancreas that I done a search on the web as if you got a sick note they can't make you by law go there as you are unwell, I found on a government site they are called, Merseyside employment of law, they actually work for the dwp,pip social security etc, so I phoned them and they were very understanding and very disgraced to find out that they had people who were unwell being made to go up to working links at the time to look for a job, to be honest I was suposeto go up the next day.he took my name etc and said dont dare go there again its ridiculous he contacted them ,must of been same day ,I had a phonecall from them and they said were awful sorry but you don't hafto come up here no more,I was shocked myself, they phoned me for a few months asking how my job seeking is going,I told them ime not looking for a job straight out, and they replied OK we contact you in a month, never heard from them again, I received a headed letter from Merseyside employmentof law saying if they try and get me up there again contact them straight away they also wanted me to sue them for they're actions but I said I couldn't as my nurves are too bad, verry nice people and its free run by the government, I sugest you contact them and report the problem to them I garrantee they will apologise and you won't have to go again, its .... MERSEYSIDE EMPLOYMENT OF LAW........DO IT ASAP, work that out though free goverment solicitors taking a government place on I couldn't get over it lol, funny as hell, and an apology,I would love to know what he said to them lol,do it regards AH

Hi @haggetts
I'm glad that you seem to have been able to get some advice and support you found helpful.
I looked up Merseyside Employment of Law, and it looks as though they're now called Equality Employment Law. They're a charitable company specialising in HR, Employment Law and Discrimination Law under the Equalities Act 2010. They charge for their services, and reinvest the profit to keep the company going and maintain their free employment advice helpline.
It's worth noting that advice on benefits can, and should, be free of charge. You can use advicelocal.uk to find advice in your local area on benefits, work, money, housing problems and more.
I'm a little confused over why you were no longer required to look for work. Were you awarded LCWRA?
