I want to scream at the telly i've waited 18 months for benefits its been a living hell. I went from being a busy mum running my own business to a poor disabled scared I will loose my children mum. I can not come to terms with how awful the whole process is being poorly long term. I sometimes feel like there is no one who wants to help. Please tell me there is more people out there like me.

Hello again @vandapanda (I just responded to your other post) and yes, I can tell you, you are not alone. There are a lot of people out there - and many of them among our members - who are like you and are experiencing similar problems.
I am very sorry that I was not able to respond to this sooner and hope you may see it before you (try to) sleep.
There are people here who care very much and will do their very best to help in any way possible. Here you can chat to us, ask us any questions you care to ask, rant and rave or whatever, and you will be listened to and heard.
Does anyone want to scream? I do, and I don't myself have any serious disability, but I want to scream at what I see pretty much every day here: good, decent, honest and courageous people being put through.
I'm here, @vandapanda and listening. Don't hesitate to be in touch, even if it is just to rant at me
Warmest best wishes to you,
Richard -
Hi @vandapanda
Im sorry to hear you've been through such a tough time, so many of our members here have been through the PIP process and have found it really tough.
I hope you enjoy being part of the community and talking to others in a similar situation, it can really help to know you arent alone.
If you have any questions, do let us knowScope

I have moan days and then realise it's not just me, it's the government's way of squeezing the vulnerable even more.
Not sure how its taken 18 months to sort PIP, usually a decision is made after four weeks.
I have had to use savings for five weeks while I transfered, because despite what they say the money didn't just carry on being paid!!Do not follow me, I don't know where I am going. -
18 months! Can you tell us what's going on? It took 14 months for me, one time, and I'm coming up on 10 months right now...
You're definitely not alone, whether in your struggle to get PIP, or in attempting to adjust to suddenly becoming disabled. The same thing happened to me, at 32. It's really rough, and it takes time. I went to see a therapist who specialises in big life changes for a few weeks. It was very helpful, but then I had another benefits row with the DWP (unrelated), and didn't have the money to keep going.
Perhaps we should have a discussion about it on here again? -
You must be taking about an MR and then appeal?
I still don't fully get why people do this.
When I was originally refused completely, I left it a few months and reapplied. Got it.
Do not follow me, I don't know where I am going.
