ESA - do my current payments stop?

Hi I'm on working esa benefit and since June last year waiting to go on support group for health reasons.but as yet still waiting for the Dr to come do home visit. Does this esa in the working one stop in 12 months and have to renew or does it continue and what if I get in support group will I be back paid

    Contributory ESA only goes beyond 12 months if you’re in the SG. If you’re not then you’re reliant on means-tested ESA and may or may not qualify depending on your circumstances. If you win SG then you get the difference between the two from whatever the relevant date is. That depends on when the decision says you’re in the SG.
