Hi everyone. Has anyone else had trouble getting a job and maintaining that position even if your a bit slow learning?  I have been out of work since last June, jumping from temp work to contract work to temp work. I have had so many interviews now but the last three jobs I have had, said that They didn’t think i could learn the technical stuff quick enough! Confidence is now at an all time low. I just want to work, I love working. Any advice etc would be great.

Look at your CV. Are you selling yoursef? Do you have a good work record? Do you have gaps in employment? Have you checked your references? If you can, look at the latest free courses usually run by local council or colleges or job centres. Some specialise in getting you work ready. Others may be relevent to the type of work you want. If you are not working, try volunteering in something you enjoy. Its very rewarding and good experience on your CV. Adult learning and careers advisors is for all ages now. So dont be shy, make an appointment.

Thanks all for your comments.  Luckily I have been placed in a temp to perm role but it isn’t exactly what I was looking for. I wondered if It was just getting a bit too much and the job I have on Monday will be a lot less stress and effort. I will definitely look at the support to work option though, thank you
