How can I earn a living?

Hi to everyone. I'm new to this site and I am looking forward to chatting with you all. I'm really looking for some advice from people in a similar situation as me. I damaged my lower spine 2 years ago at work. It was very un dramatic as I simply bent down & twisted to pick something up. That resulted in ruptured discs an a unsuccessful operation and permanent pain.
Any way since this happened I've not been able to return to work. I was in maintenance and I have been told that I'm now unable to do physical work.
I can't sit for long periods and have days where my mobility is limited. That makes it hard to commit to an employer.
I literary have no idea on how to earn a living and what direction that should be.
I apologise in advance for my spelling and grammar.
Id appreciate any views thoughts or ideas. Many thanks in advance 😀

Nothing to apologize for in 'spelling and grammar' - we want to know what you have to say, not how you say it
You might find it useful to have a look at our on-line ckeck: What benefits am I entitled to? Perhaps you could give it a try, and get back to us with any queries?
Other members who have been in a similar position will also no doubt respond to you, and we do have specialist advisors we can refer you to as things progress.
Hope some of that helps?
Don't hesitate to ask us any questions or to tell us more about your situation. We're here, and listening.
Warmest best wishes to you,
Richard

Have you seen Scope's Support to Work scheme? It may be worth getting in touch with them to see if they can help.
Thank you very much for your enquiry and welcome to the online community.
As suggested above, it may be a good idea to begin by contacting your local job centre to find out what benefits you are entitled to.
In regards to looking for suitable employment, remote working/occasional office visits may work for you depending on the industry you are interested in pursuing.
The employment advisers on the Support Service could assist you with identifying your transferable skills, provide information on roles which may be suitable for you, interview practice, CV and cover letter guidance and application support.
If you are interested in the service or would like more information on what the service consists of, you can call us on 0300 222 5742 or can fill out a referral on www.scope.org.uk/support-to-work.
